Now, with Ammonite, Francis Lee has been shortlisted for the IWC Schaffhausen Filmmaker Bursary Award, organized in association with the British Film Institute (BFI) to support up-and-coming filmmakers. And now the film has secured its iconic winged fairy.

Below, everything we know about the new film, including if it will premiere on Disney+.

Who is involved?

Strong winds fan Colorado’s largest recorded wildfire

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The largest wildfire in Colorado history grew overnight as high winds pushed the blaze through rural communities and the forecast predicts more “extreme fire behavior” on Saturday.

Gusts of up to 70 mph (112 kph) overnight created “very significant” fire activity, especially along the southeast section, said Cass Cairns, a spokeswoman for the Cameron Peak fire efforts.

“The plan today is to try to hold the fire to the east,” Paul Delmerico, operations chief for the Cameron Peak fire said early Saturday. “We’re facing the same critical fire conditions today as we did yesterday.”

They’re expecting gusts of 60 mph (96 kph) midday, he said.

The fire grew to 293 square miles (759 square kilometers) by Saturday morning and was 57% contained.

Boulder County fire officials reported a new fire had sparked west of Boulder on Saturday afternoon. The Boulder Office of Emergency Management said on

U.S. charges Mexico’s ex-defense secretary with drug smuggling

Mexico’s former defense secretary is facing charges of using his position to help one of the most notorious drug cartels operate with impunity while using the Mexican military to hurt their rivals, according to U.S. prosecutors.

Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn, New York, have charged Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda, 72, with accepting bribes from the H-2 cartel based in Nayarit and Sinaloa, Mexico, in exchange for his services.

Cienfuegos, who served as defense secretary under then-President Enrique Peña Nieto from 2012 to 2018, was taken into custody Thursday at Los Angeles International Airport.

The H-2 cartel is described by prosecutors as having distributed thousands of pounds of heroin, cocaine, methamphetamines and marijuana.

“In Mexico, the H-2 Cartel trafficked in hundreds of lethal firearms and committed countless acts of horrific violence, including torture and murder, in order to protect against challenges from rival drug trafficking organizations, fight for territory and silence those who

Leave it to Steven Soderbergh to reinvent the wheel once again when it comes to independent filmmaking. The film stars Meryl Streep, Dianne Wiest, and Candice Bergen, who all play longtime friends who reconvene on an ocean liner for a reminiscent talkfest spiked with banter and regret. First details on the making of the film were detailed in an Entertainment Weekly conversation with the cast, who revealed some telling behind-the-scenes secrets.

“I told [Soderbergh] he was gonna ruin everything for every director, and every production designer, and everything else, because he made the movie for 25 cents — I know that’s what I was paid,” Streep said. “Then it was made in two weeks,

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Movie theaters outside of New York City will be allowed to reopen on Oct. 23 after a months-long hiatus spurred by the coronavirus, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Saturday.

Moviegoers will be required to wear masks except when seated and eating or drinking. Theaters will be required to meet enhanced standards for air filtration and ventilation.

Sacha Baron Cohen Reveals Details of New ‘Borat’ Film

Sacha Baron Cohen has disclosed several important plot points within the upcoming “Borat” sequel, aptly titled “Borat Subsequent Movie Film: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.”

In a new interview with the New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, Cohen revealed that the iconic Borat character uses the flower beds in front of the Trump hotel as a bathroom and keeps his daughter in a cage, among other unbelievable antics.

According to the article, Borat’s daughter wonders if her cage is “nicer than Melania’s,” and when Borat takes her shopping, he asks for the “No means yes” section. Upon buying a chocolate cake, he demands that “Jews will not replace us” to be written on it in icing – with a smiley face. And, as teased in its trailer, the new film will see Borat — dressed as Donald Trump — sneak

Movie theaters in New York outside NYC can reopen with limits October 23, Cuomo announces

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced at a press conference on Saturday that movie theaters in the state — but not in New York City — can reopen at 25% capacity starting October 23. Theaters have been closed since mid-March, when the state went into lockdown.

The limited reopening will only apply to counties that have an infection rate below 2% on a 14-day average and have no COVID-19 hot spots. Those stipulations rule out several counties including, Rockland, Orange and Broome.

New Yorkers going to the movies for the first time in nearly seven months will be required to wear masks and social distance from other patrons. Only 50 people will be allowed per screen.

Cuomo held his press conference as the U.S. faces a fall coronavirus surge that is seeing states nationwide report record numbers of new COVID-19 cases.
