No, marijuana won’t be legal right away if the N.J. referendum passes. Here’s what you can’t do.

Voters are poised to make history and vote to legalize marijuana in New Jersey this Nov. 3, several polls show.

But that won’t automatically flip a switch and allow adults to legally buy weed for recreational use the very next day.

New Jersey lawmakers must still pass a bill to enable the marijuana industry to operate here, nailing down the specific rules and regulations. And new marijuana dispensaries will have to go through a rigorous licensing process before they can open and meet the demand.

So it isn’t vote one day, legally light up the next.

The ballot question looks like the end of the long road to legalization, but it’s really just the beginning of another phase. Here’s some of what you

Clare Cordell Performs Original Song “She Won’t At Her Solo Concert On The Thames

Late last year, singer-songwriter Clare Cordell played her Down To The River acoustic concert at Tamesis Dock, the floating venue on the Thames. To lift the lockdown blues, some of the night’s recordings have been released onto YouTube.

Cordell was scouted as a contestant for 2018 series of X Factor and performed two songs at Wembley Arena, receiving a standing ovation for both. Acclaimed Broadway star and singer-songwriter Shoshana Bean invited Cordell to perform her own music in a sold-out show at the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square.

Once described as “a sassier, more common version of Adele with a greater voice and a significantly lower bank balance”, Cordell is fully riding that narrative, bringing you a concoction of soulful, heartfelt music, filthy language and self-deprecating humour.

Her most recent single “She Won’t” has reached over 33,000 Spotify plays and features in a number of new music playlists across the

Canada’s Cenovus to buy Husky for $2.9 billion as pandemic drives oil mergers

(Reuters) – Cenovus Energy Inc CVE.TO has agreed to buy rival Husky Energy Inc HSE.TO in an all-stock deal valued at C$3.8 billion ($2.9 billion) to create Canada’s No. 3 oil and gas producer, as a pandemic-driven collapse in demand forces the industry to consolidate.

The combination, announced on Sunday, follows recent big deals in the United States. Concho Resources Inc CXO.N agreed this month to a takeover by ConocoPhillips COP.N for $9.7 billion. That followed Chevron Corp’s CVX.N $4.2 billion purchase of Noble Energy.

The collapse in fuel demand during pandemic lockdowns has put additional pressure on companies in Canada, the fourth-largest global oil producer, forcing them

Stevie Nicks on Her Concert Film, ‘Dreams,’ Prince and the Rock Hall

Not that it ever was far from rock fans’ consciousness, but Stevie Nicks’ voice is suddenly a ubiquitous part of popular culture again, thanks to a viral video of a skateboarding man singing along to Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” that has become the feel-good hit of a feel-bad fall season. Naturally, the snippet of it has made a hungry world ready again to consume more of “Dreams” than can fit in a TikTok video, which is why “Dreams” and the “Rumours” album have both returned to the top 10, 43 years later.

But if the resurgence has led you to want to hear not just “Dreams” but two hours and 10 minutes of unexpurgated Stevie, the universe has conspired to accommodate that. Sunday night, Nicks’ film, “24 Karat Gold: The Movie,” will be playing at theaters and drive-ins across the country. It’ll be followed Friday by the release of a full

More than 200,000 protest in Belarus capital

Tens of thousands of protesters in Belarus swarmed the streets of the capital Sunday, pressing for the resignation of the country’s authoritarian president, and an opposition leader said a nationwide strike would start Monday.

Over 200,000 people took part in the largest demonstration in Minsk since late August, the Viasna human rights center said. They carried red and white flags and marched while chanting “Go away!” and “New election!,” references to a disputed presidential vote that returned President Alexander Lukashenko to a sixth term and triggered almost daily protests.

Several subway stations were closed, mobile internet was not working, and water cannons and armored vehicles were seen in the center of Minsk. Rallies also took place in other cities in Belarus, and police detained scores of people across the country. A list of detained protesters released by the Viasna center had over 200 names by Sunday evening.

In Minsk, police

New cease-fire announced in 4-week Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) — Fighting over the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh region continued Sunday, but Armenia and Azerbaijan reiterated their commitment to a peaceful resolution of their decades-old conflict and announced that a third attempt to establish a lasting cease-fire after four weeks of fighting would begin on Monday morning.

The decision on a cease-fire set to begin at 8 a.m. (0400 GMT) Monday was announced in a joint statement by the governments of the United States, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The announcement comes after two earlier Russia-brokered cease-fire agreements, including one last weekend, frayed immediately after taking forces, with both sides accusing each other of violations.

The statement said the agreement came after a meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Stephen E. Biegun. The two ministers “reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to implement and abide by the humanitarian ceasefire” agreed upon
