Why did an Oregon health official dressed like a clown read off the coronavirus death toll?

A video in which Oregon Health Authority officials dressed in costume give COVID-19 information is getting national attention, almost two weeks after it was initially posted.

The reason? A screenshot of the video showing an official in sad clown makeup reading off the daily virus death toll was shared widely on social media after it was tweeted by an Oregonian/OregonLive reporter, Samantha Swindler.

The story has been covered by Fox News, The Independent, TMZ and others.

Dr. Claire Poché, a public health physician with the Oregon Health Authority, kicked off the Halloween safety video by removing her surgical mask to reveal a full face of clown make-up, somewhat reminiscent of the Joker, one of Batman’s creepiest rivals.

Census Bureau: Young adults make up the largest share of those without health insurance

Young adults ages 19 to 34 have the highest uninsured health care rates in the country, according to census data — and Nicholas Williams hopes not to enter into that category.

He’s anxious, though. That’s because Williams will turn 26 next month, making him ineligible to remain on his parents’ health insurance plan under Affordable Care Act regulations.

“Twenty-six is the end of the road for me,” Williams said, referring to his current ACA plan. “I’m definitely nervous. … You’re cut off. I’ll be on my own.”

Before implementation of the ACA in 2010, health insurers set the age limit, which varied.

Williams, who lives with his family in East Islip, is frantically job hunting, with multiple interviews lined up, he said. Williams said he has a degree in social studies from St. Francis College and is interested in a job in customer service.

Lil Nas X slams criticism of his Nicki Minaj Halloween costume

Lil Nas X took to Twitter on Saturday to clap back at people criticizing his 2020 Halloween costume, an homage to Nicki Minaj.

The “Old Town Road” singer got dressed in elaborate drag as the iconic rapper for the holiday but not everyone was a fan.

One person wrote, “How much money u think Lil nas x is being paid to destroy the minds of young black kids to go against their God?”

Lil Nas X swiftly responded to the homophobic comment, writing, “yes because ur child is gonna say ‘lil nas x dressed up as nicki minaj so why should i worship god anymore.'”

The original comment has since been deleted.

That wasn’t the only commenter that appeared to be unhappy about the 21-year-old’s outfit on social media. Rapper 50 Cent tweeted, “what the f—, Nikki come get him !!! Lol.”

Cody Calafiore Wins Big Brother All-Stars After Dominant Season 22 Performance

Big Brother: All-Stars has a winner.

Cody Calafiore won the 22nd season of the hit CBS reality series on Wednesday night’s live two-hour finale, defeating Enzo Palumbo by a final jury vote of 9-0. Nicole Franzel, meanwhile, was voted out during the episode in third place.

Prior to Wednesday’s finale, Franzel, 28, defeated Calafiore, 29, and Palumbo, 42, in the Halloween-themed part 1 of the final Head of Household competition of the season, allowing her to move directly to part 3.

In part 2, which unfolded on Wednesday, Calafiore easily bested Palumbo, meaning Calafiore and Franzel would compete in part 3. That competition took place later in the episode, and Calafiore was the winner.

Ultimately, Calafiore, as the final Head of Household of the season, decided to evict Franzel and take Palumbo with him to face the jury in the final 2.

Thursday’s meeting came two days after the Justice Department filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google, and as coalitions of state attorneys general are weighing whether to bring their own complaints against the search giant.
