The Weeknd Isn’t Actually Bruised Underneath Those Bandages

The Weeknd took home the first award of the night at the 2020 American Music Awards on Sunday (Nov 22) and he didn’t just make headlines for snagging a trophy — it was also because of what he looked like doing it. With a bandaged and bruised face, many wondered exactly what happened to him before taking the stage. But it turns out, it’s nothing actually: it’s just a clever bit of album promotion.

In the press room amid her presenting duties at this year’s event, the “Rooted” hitmaker told reporters that she “learned she was pregnant” with son Win Harrison, now 3 months, while “hosting the show” in 2019.

“When I went home both Russell and I found out, so a lot of special memories being here,” said Ciara, 35, per E! News. “And then being pregnant, it felt like time was going really slow.”

Also mom to daughter Sienna Princess, 3½, and son Future Zahir, 6½, the singer said this last pregnancy felt like her “slowest” yet.

“My body was so achy I thought I was going to need a cane at the end of my pregnancy, to be honest,” Ciara said. “I was penguin-walking throughout the house at the end.”

It’s been months since we heard about Ryan Reynolds’ time travel movie for Netflix, which we learned back in April will be about a guy who goes back in time to stop some villain, interacting with both himself as a teenager and his now-deceased father along the way, and now The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on the rest of the film’s surprisingly famous cast. For starters, Mark Ruffalo will be playing Reynolds’ father, a “brilliant physicist” of some kind, with a kid named Walker Scobell playing young Reynolds in what is apparently his “first professional gig.”

Financial services are not part of talks that continue this week in a bid to conclude a free trade agreement (FTA) before Britain’s access to the bloc under transition arrangements ends next month.

“It’s very important for the financial services industry that there is a deal, it will completely change the atmosphere,” Nicolas Mackel, CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, told an online event.

“If there were to be no deal, relations would be acrimonious for at least one or two years, and it would be very difficult to envisage any bridges to be built across the Channel,”
