Brooklyn dad fatally shot moments after turning 34

A doting Brooklyn dad was fatally shot in the head in his apartment building just minutes after he turned 34 early Wednesday, police said.

Marvin “Curtis” Carroway was gunned down in the lobby of a Howard Houses building where he lived on Sutter Ave. in Brownsville — with police reporting they got a call for help at 12:02 a.m..

Just two hours before he was slain, Carroway was on Facebook Live celebrating his Wednesday birthday with friends.

“My b-day is tomorrow,” he says as he drinks from a champagne bottle and grooves to rap music.

“I’m chilling bro, like I didn’t even get to pull up and go to the city yet. I ain’t do nothing, I ain’t even leave,” he says. “I’m just having a good time. I respect everybody. Just respect me. That’s all I care about.”

Medics rushed Carroway to Brookdale University Hospital but he could not

“Lonely” Proves Benny Blanco Is Your Favorite Artist’s Favorite Shrink

Benny Blanco doesn’t want fame. Hates the idea of it. He’s the type of guy who gets embarrassed when his friends sing “Happy Birthday” to him. Sure, he writes hit songs for some of the biggest musicians in the world, from Justin Bieber to Ed Sheeran and Halsey, “but if I ever was as famous as Justin that’d be a nightmare,” the songwriter-producer says (the pair recently performed their mournful new single “Lonely” together on Saturday Night Live). Sure, he’s gregarious–when we talk on Zoom he’s splayed out on a red velvet sofa, decked out in a seventies disco-era pink button-down shirt open to the navel–but that doesn’t mean he’s extroverted. Blanco pauses then adds: “It takes a strange person to love being famous or want to be famous. I don’t understand it. I would never do it.”

Avoiding such scrutiny is a big reason why staying behind the

Cameron Diaz is reflecting on taking a bit of a different chronological approach to motherhood.

The actress and Avaline entrepreneur opened up to Naomi Campbell about becoming a first-time mom at 47 last year on Tuesday’s episode of the supermodel’s No Filter YouTube series.

“A lot of people do it the other way around … they get married [and] have a family in their youth,” said Diaz, who turned 48 this past August — exactly eight months after she and husband Benji Madden welcomed their first child together, daughter Raddix. “I’m kind of doing it in the second half of my life.”

“The only pressure for me now is I have to live to be, like, 107, you know? No pressure!” the Charlie’s Angels star joked with a laugh, going on to call this time in life her “sweet spot” and the “happiest” she has felt thus far.

“Narcos: Mexico” has been renewed for Season 3 at Netflix.

Along with the renewal, Netflix announced that Wagner Moura — who played Pablo Escobar in the first two seasons of “Narcos” — will board Season 3 in order to direct two episodes of the season.

In addition, series showrunner Eric Newman will exit that role after five seasons and turn things over to series co-creator Carlos Bernard.

“I am grateful for my five years at the helm of ‘Narcos’ and ‘Narcos: Mexico’ and am immensely proud of what this spectacular team has achieved with these shows,” Newman said. “Carlo Bernard is the first person I ever spoke to about this project, over ten years ago, and I am extremely pleased to leave the steering of Season 3 of ‘Narcos: Mexico’ in his very capable hands.”

Originally intended as a fourth season of “Narcos,” which focused on the rise of the

The CMA Awards Promise to Bring Top Country Stars Together ‘Safely, All in One Room’

Music City Center is notably smaller than Bridgestone Arena, the CMA Awards’ home from 2006-19. Sarah Trahern, CMA chief executive officer, alluded to that fact in her statement. “Although the show will feel a bit more intimate this year, we look forward to hosting our nominated artists and their guests as we celebrate the best of country music in a fully safe and physically distant environment. It will be an honor to bring the biggest country stars in the world together – in one room – for the first time this year. You won’t want to miss it!”

Lady A, which has been entangled in a bitter public dispute with Anita White, a Black, Seattle-based singer who uses that same stage name, will perform with Rucker, co-host of this year’s CMA Awards (and the biggest Black country star of his generation). The teaming is seen as lending support to the
