‘Vantage Point’ TV Series Based On Movie In Works At NBC From Barry Levy, Josh Berman & Neal H. Moritz

EXCLUSIVE: NBC is developing Vantage Point, a character-driven thriller drama series based on the 2008 Sony movie. The TV adaptation comes from the film’s writer, Barry Levy, and producer, Neil H. Moriz via his Original Film, as well as Josh Berman’ Osprey Productions and Sony Pictures TV where Berman and Moritz have overall deals.

The film, which starred Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox, Forest Whitaker, William Hurt and Sigourney Weaver, told the story of an assassination attempt on the President of the United States through the vantage points of different characters.

‘Christmas Carol’ Movie With Carey Mulligan Coming to U.S. Theaters

CineLife Entertainment is handling the U.S. release of a new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” with a British voice cast including Carey Mulligan, Daniel Kaluuya, Martin Freeman, Simon Russell Beale and Andy Serkis.

The film has been scheduled for more than 200 U.S. locations and will begin opening Dec. 4. through January. This retelling of the classic Christmas tale follows a Victorian family as they prepare a toy theater for their annual performance of “A Christmas Carol” with real dancers and stylized sets, with spoken narration.

The dance performances are led by former Royal Ballet first soloist and BalletBoyz founder Michael Nunn as Scrooge, Jakub Franasowicz, Russell Maliphant, Karl Fagerlund Brekke, Mikey Boats, Grace Jabbari and Dana Fouras. The UK release began in mid-November.

Emma Stone has been forced to bow out of period Hollywood drama Babylon due to scheduling reasons according to Deadline, with The Suicide Squad‘s Margot Robbie tipped to replace her alongside Pitt.

Babylon – which will be directed by La La Land‘s Damien Chazelle – has been in the works for over a year and is currently set for a late 2021, early 2022 release, just in time for the awards season.

Indian movie superstar Rajinikanth to launch political party

NEW DELHI (AP) — Indian movie superstar Rajinikanth said Thursday he plans to launch his own political party in southern India in January, ending years of speculation by millions of his fans on his political future.

He said in a tweet that he will make an announcement on Dec. 31, apparently in relation to legislative elections in Tamil Nadu state expected around June next year. He started taking an active part in politics in 2017.

Rajinikanth, 69, is one of India’s most popular stars with more than 175 films since 1975, mostly in the Tamil and Telugu languages.

“In the upcoming Assembly elections, the emergence of spiritual politics will happen for sure. A wonder will happen,” he tweeted. An announcement on matters connected to the party’s launch will be made Dec. 31, he said.
