Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo have unveiled a first look at their new movie Cherry, which stars Spider-Man’s Tom Holland.

The directors shared the pics, from the new issue of Vanity Fair, on Instagram while confirming that the film will premiere in theaters on February 26 2021 and then on Apple TV+ March 12.

Cherry tells the story of a former army medic who struggles with extreme post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), who falls into addiction and bank robbing. It is based on Nico Walker’s semi-autobiographical novel of the same name.

The script was written by the Russos’ sister Angela Russo-Otstot and Jessica Goldberg.

Speaking about the film to Vanity Fair, Joe said: “He travels a great distance over a 15-year period.

“The movie’s broken up into six chapters that reflect those different periods, and each one has a different tone. It’s shot with different lenses, different production design. One’s got magical realism. Another chapter is absurdism. Another is horror…There/’s a bit of gonzo in it. It’s raw in its tone. He’s a character in existential crisis.”

Meanwhile, last month Holland confirmed that filming had finally begun on the third Spider-Man movie.

Holland’s been pretty busy lately as he’s also been working on the Uncharted movie with Mark Wahlberg, sharing the first pic of himself in costume as treasure hunter Nathan Drake in October.

The film’s release date has unsurprisingly been pushed back a number of times due to Covid-19, but it’s scheduled to finally hit cinemas next summer.

Cherry is released in theaters on February 26 2021 and then on Apple TV+ March 12.
