Ryan Reynolds shares first look at the time-travel movie

Ryan Reynolds recently completed his first week of production on THE ADAM PROJECT, a time-travel adventure for Netflix directed by Shawn Levy (FREE GUY), and he took to Twitter to share the first look at the upcoming film. “Finished our first week on The Adam Project,” Reynolds wrote. “In addition to taking these two photos, @netflix will be happy to know we also shot some of the film. Happy to be back in the sturdy arms of my friend, life coach and director, @ShawnLevyDirect.” Check out the pics below!

THE ADAM PROJECT will find Ryan Reynolds playing a man who travels back in time to get help from his 13-year-old self in locating their late father, who is now the same age as Reynolds, and set things right in order to save the future. Mark Ruffalo (AVENGERS: ENDGAME) will be playing Reynolds’ father, a brilliant physicist, with Jennifer Garner (YES DAY) playing Reynolds’ mother, Zoe Saldana (AVATAR 2) playing Reynolds’ wife, a fighter pilot, Catherine Keener (Kidding) playing the villain, a woman who steals powerful technology from Ruffalo’s character, and newcomer Walter Scobell playing Reynolds’ 13-year-old shelf.

Jonathan Tropper (Banshee) penned the script, which was based on the previous draft by Mark Levin & Jennifer Flackett (Big Mouth), and T.S. Nowlin (THE MAZE RUNNER). This new project will also be the first for Ryan Reynolds’ The Group Effort Initiative, “a self-financed diversity and inclusion program from that aims to give people of color, across all ages, a chance to work and learn on the actor’s productions.” Ryan Reynolds is one busy guy and has plenty of projects just over the horizon, including the recently released THE CROODS: A NEW AGE (check out a review from our own JimmyO), as well as the upcoming FREE GUY, THE HITMAN’S WIFE’S BODYGUARD, and RED NOTICE.
