Can the superhero movie survive the Covid-era switch to streaming? | Film

Wonder Woman’s origin myth is well known: Princess Diana of Themyscira quits her beloved fantasy island of Amazonian warrior women and sets out into the human world to help save us from our worst instincts, like a sort of kick-ass female Jesus in red, blue and gold. You might think Gal Gadot’s battling goddess would be better off heading home, given we’re in the middle of a pandemic, otherwise it probably won’t be long until she needs a little saving herself, along with all the other superhero movies out there.

Covid 19’s ability to shutter cinemas worldwide could fundamentally alter the way these big-budget productions are put together in future. It was reported this week that forthcoming sequel Wonder Woman 1984 will be the first film screened in 4K Ultra HD on the new US streaming service HBO Max, from Christmas Day. It’s also heading to cinemas at the

Nintendo has pushed out a brand new update for its Switch console that makes it easier to access Nintendo Switch Online, and transfer screenshots and capture footage to other devices.

The latest update—version 11.0—was released Monday night, and the biggest change gamers will see as a result has to do with the Nintendo Switch Online service. This service not only allows for Switch owners to play games online, it also gives them the ability to save data to the cloud and access a library of games from the NES and SNES eras.

Why some social media users are making the switch to Parler

The 2020 election season was flooded with misinformation about everything from the security of mail-in voting to the accuracy of election results. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms attempted to crack down on the falsehoods being shared with flags and fact checks — but that crackdown is prompting some users to leave in pursuit of online communities with fewer restrictions.

Many right-wing individuals, citing censorship on Facebook and Twitter, have flocked to Parler, which brands itself as “unbiased social media.” Other popular sites include MeWe and Ruqqus.

After Twitter hid and flagged a tweet from Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo that shared misleading information about election results in key states, Bartiromo tweeted that she plans to give up Twitter for Parler, and encouraged her followers to do the same.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin repeatedly asked his Facebook

Sam Palladio on ‘Princess Switch’ Sequel, Vanessa Hudgens’ 3rd Role

A different type of holiday romance. The Princess Switch: Switched Again not only introduces a third character, Fiona, played by Vanessa Hudgens, but also does something else a bit different for holiday films: shows a bit of real life.

The last time fans saw Prince Edward (Sam Palladio) and Stacy De Novo (Hudgens), they married in a royal wedding and lived happily ever after. Although the sequel is filled with holiday happiness, it also goes the more realistic route, the Nashville alum, 33, explains during this week’s “Watch With Us” podcast.

“There are smiles and some Christmas cheer and making everything happy after but at the same time, the story moving forward is that relationships aren’t always easy — that even if you’re a prince and a princess, there are pressures and the spotlight and there’s relationship struggles,” he told Us. “Edward’s feeling a little bit

“Dream Home Makeover’s” Shea McGee Reveals Feeling Guilty Over Career Switch in New Memoir

From House Beautiful

Fans of husband-wife duo, Syd and Shea McGee likely came to know the couple from their Netflix show Dream Home Makeover or even their design company, Studio McGee. But they might not be aware of the many obstacles the couple overcame to garner streaming fame and solidify their spot in the design world. Released in late October, their memoir Make Life Beautiful details exactly that.

In a series of Make Life Beautiful excerpts obtained by People, both Syd and Shea recall their lowest and sometimes most humbling moments.

According to Syd, there came a point where “We cut out everything that wasn’t mortgage or food, and even with that we had a strict grocery budget.” Even with their strict budget, the couple was swiftly “losing ground” financially.

“But no matter how much we cut our expenses, something always came up,” Syd

The Princess Switch 2 Trailer: Vanessa Hudgens Is Back for Netflix Sequel

The trailer for the sequel to Netflix’s The Princess SwitchThe Princess Switch: Switched Again, is here. It was only a matter of time before we got the very cheerful, season-appropriate trailer, which stars Vanessa Hudgens, after new images from the movie were released back in October. Hudgens has been making a killing in the Netflix holiday movie department so far, starring in the first Princess Switch movie in 2018 and The Knight Before Christmas in 2019.

When it comes to the trailer for The Princess Switch: Switched Again, there’s a lot of material to absorb here. As the title subtly (just kidding) implies, lookalike heroines Stacy de Novo and Lady Margaret (both roles played by Hudgens) will reunite for Margaret’s coronation ceremony. This time around, the twins will switch so Margaret can try to rekindle her failed romance with Kevin (Nick

The Nintendo Switch Has Now Sold 68.3 Million Units Globally

It’s that time of year again, and Nintendo has released its latest earnings report. Showing that the Switch has now sold 68.3 million units across the world.

That means the Switch has already overtaken the sales of both the NES and SNES and is on track to overtake the 3DS at some point soon.

This is very impressive considering that the Switch is now only three years old, and I am sure the plucky little console has a lot more life in it yet.

In addition to the new hardware sales figures, we also have more information on overall software sales. With the Switch amassing 456.49 million software sales since its 2017 release.

The truly surprising aspect to this figure is which game came out top. I mean, you would think that it would be Zelda: Breath of the Wild

3 Upstate NY radio stations switch to all Christmas music

Now that Halloween’s over, at least three radio stations in Upstate New York have switched to all Christmas music.

WIVB reports Star 102.5 (WTSS-FM) flipped on Sunday, celebrating its 20th anniversary as Buffalo’s Christmas radio station. Its playlist Monday included songs like “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “A Holly Jolly Christmas” and “Frosty the Snowman.”

98.3 WTRY and 103.9 The Breeze (WPBZ-FM), which both serve Albany and the Capital District, similarly switched to 24/7 holiday music on November 1.

“If there was ever a year to get into the holiday spirit early, it is 2020!. So feel free to put up the tree and lights early and celebrate the joy and happiness of the season with non-stop Christmas classics and holiday favorites,” The Breeze’s website said.

Other radio stations that typically switch to Christmas music in November include Sunny 102 (WZUN-FM) and Y94FM (WYYY) in Syracuse, plus
